A Classy & Fabulous Mojo Monday

Today's Mojo Monday card (see sketch below) features a couple sneak peek items- the new In Color Melon Mambo, and Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series paper.

I have had this set, Classy & Fabulous, for quite some time and finally got the chance to ink it up. This set is not featured in the new 2009-2010 Idea book and Catalog, but I am fairly certain that it will be on the dormant list since it was not a Last Chance item. Don't forget that there is only 8 days left to get any Last Chance items. When they are gone, they're gone!

My card started out with a Melon Mambo base (available July 1), scored at the top. A strip of Pretty in Pink textured card stock was adhered to the top third of the card, while the bottom was covered in a Melon Mambo grid pattern from Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (also available July1). The sentiment, from Classy & Fabulous, was inked up in Black StazOn and stamped directly onto the DSP. TIP: For perfect alignment, use a Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Another sneak peak item: Melon Mambo Polka dot Grosgrain ribbon. A piece was wrapped around a 1" strip of Basic Black textured card stock and used to hide the seam where the two papers meet.

This Classy gal was inked in Black StazOn and stamped onto Whisper White. The image was then water colored using blender pens and ink pads in Basic Gray, Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Blush Blossom, and Sahara Sand. TIP: To water color with blender pens and ink pads just squeeze a closed ink pad then open it up to reveal a pool of ink that you can dip the blender pen into.

The image was matted in Pretty in Pink and a scalloped rectangle of Basic Black textured card stock. TIP: I used my scallop edge punch on all four sides of the rectangle. I admit it is pretty tricky at the corners. The best way I have found to get it to line up is to flip the punch upside down to start with. Line up the paper so that the edge is in the middle of one of the scallops. When doing the next side, line up the last scallop with the next one you will be punching.

Lastly, I stamped the shopping bag image onto Whisper White and water colored it in. Next I snipped it out and adhered it to a circle of Whisper White (punched with the 1 3/8" circle punch) with a dimensional. It was then layered onto a scalloped circle of Basic Black (using the punch).

You nailed the sketch. Classy and fabulous. I keep toying with this stamp set. Love what you did. Fun and feminine are good adjectives for this card, too. Hugs, Mary
