It's Good To Dream

Today's card showcases 2 sneak peek sets! The images that I think take center stage are from Circle Circus (no pun intended!). This set seems so perfect for scrapbooks, but I think they work great for a card, too.

The layout for this card is from SC234 (below). I also was inspired by this photo taken from Sugarbaby Cupcake Boutique in Houston, TX. I love the color combination and the scroll details.

This Basic Black card base frames out a Regal Rose pattern from Patterns Pack Designer Series Paper II (hostess freebie).

To create what I think of as "tin ceiling tiles", I used some Metal Sheets (Making Memories) and my Big Shot. I ran them through with the Damask pattern from the SU Backgrounds Texturz Plates. The photo doesn't really do these justice! They came out so crisp- completely reminiscent of the ceiling tiles! TIP: I did try this with aluminum foil and found that it was just too thin. The texture kept going through the foil. Perhaps several sheets at one time would work, though?

I stamped the circle images, from Circle Circus, using Black StazOn several times onto Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. I snipped these out and paper pieced them together. Circles created using my Circle Scissor Plus serve as a backdrop for the main image.

To dress up the upper right corner of my Whisper White backdrop, I took out my crafters toolkit and hole template. TIP: As of June 30th, the crafters toolkit will be retired. However, starting July 1st, Stampin' Up will begin offering just the Paper Piercing tool and the mat pack can be purchased separately.

Two frames from the Matchbox Bigz XL die were popped out in Basic Black and Whisper White using my Big Shot. The sentiment, from Razzle Dazzle (to be released July 1), was inked up in Regal Rose and stamped using a Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement. The piece was then adhered to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The finishing touch? A large Filigree brad attached to the top of the frame. I actually attached this to the frame using glue dots since a good portion of it goes off of the pieces.

I hope you are enjoying these little sneak peeks of some new 2009-2010 product! Don't forget to reserve your copy of the new Idea Book and Catalog (available July 1)!

Happy Stampin'!
Carrie

What an incredible interpretation of the inspiration photo. Love your use of different elements and that "metal" is divine. Very cool how you layered the sentiment on the Matchbox die cuts. Hugs, Mary
