Simple and Sparkly

Most of my regular readers know that I love anything that sparkles... so when I saw this set, Crazy for Cupcakes, I knew I had to glitter it up!

This very simple layout allowed for the sparkly cupcakes to take center stage.

I started out with a completely In Color scheme: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, and Crushed Curry. I also used a pattern from Razzleberry Lemonade DSP.

The Scallop Oval Frame Sizzix die and my Big Shot created the Whisper White oval and Bermuda Bay frame. TIP: Little white dots were created using a Uni-ball Signo Gel Pen for an added touch of whimsy.

Using my Stamp-a-ma-jig and Black StazOn ink, I stamped the cupcake image onto the white oval. Next I colored in the cherries, cupcake holders, and tray with a 2-way glue pen and applied Fine Cosmo Glitter. TIP: it is best to separate out the colors you will be using by gluing and glittering one color at a time.

A DecoArt SnowWriter (www.decoart.com) was used for the fluffy white frosting. This did take about an hour to fully dry.

I didn't want the glitter to be touched and subsequently get on everything. So I created a window with my frame. I simply attached the Bermuda frame to a slightly larger window sheet and trimmed it out. This was attached over the cupcakes using dimensionals.

A cute little knot of Crush Curry Polka Dotted grosgrain ribbon was attached on the lower side of the frame. Confession: I actually applied the frame a little crooked and it exposed too much from the underside, so the ribbon was a quick fix to hide the imperfection!

Happy Stampin'!
Carrie
