Mojo Monday 97!

Monday's have become a day to look forward to for me since that is when the weekly Mojo sketch is released. I love the circle elements in this weeks design (below).

I also love the new Pendant Park stamp set in the new catalog. So fun and fresh!

Here are the details on today's card- stay tuned near the end of this post for some exciting and important announcements:

  • This is a 5.5"x4.25" Soft Suede card base.
  • A 5.25"x 2" piece of a Crushed Curry Patterns DSP came next.
  • A 5.25"x3" piece of Old Olive went through my Big Shot with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate. TIP: For a deeper impression without the drying time of spritzing with water, I used a couple pieces of card stock to act as shims. These go on top of the sandwich (not in with the card stock that is being embossed).
  • The decorative border image from Pendant Park was inked in Crushed Curry and stamped onto Very Vanilla. I cut the border in half because it wasn't long enough to go the length of the card, and the open space ended up under my circles. TIP: Adding another piece of card stock or ribbon at the "seam" creates a smoother transition from one pattern/texture to the next.
  • The tree image was inked up in Old Olive and stamped onto Very Vanilla. It was cropped into a 3" circle using my Circle Scissor Plus.
  • I turned the dial on my Circle Scissor Plus for a slightly larger circle out of Soft Suede.
  • To create the ground, I took my blender pens and Soft Suede ink pad. I lightly picked up color and brushed it along the bottom of the tree.
  • This cute bench and squirrels image was inked in Soft Suede, stamped on Vanilla, cut out and attached to the circle using dimensionals.
  • The sentiment was inked in Soft Suede and cropped with a 1 1/4" circle punch. Another 1 3/8" circle of Soft Suede acts as a mat.
  • Two Very Vanilla Jumbo Brads dress up the lower corner of the card.
  • I don't actually own the Photo Corners punch (I don't know why because I love this look- making a note to add it to my next order :). Creating this look took some time but it had a similar effect. I used my 1 3/8" square punch to pop out a square of Old Olive and saved it for another project. Using the square hole in the card stock as a guide, I lined up the punch again for an "L" shape. Then I snipped off the ends to make it look like a photo corner. A little paper piercing added a some extra detail.
I must really love this set because I used ALL of the images in it for this card!
