Color Throwdown #50 and SC236

My goal today was to incorporate as many new products in my card as I could. Since I used 2 new stamp sets, and 2 new accessories, I hope I succeeded :).

This card also meets the criteria for 2 challenges that were posted today. The first is Color Throwdown #50: Real Red/Tempting Turquoise/Kiwi Kiss (I used Old Olive). I also used Splitcoasts sketch SC236.

Here is the rundown for the card:
  • The card has a Tempting Turquoise base with layers of coordinating Sunny Day Simply Scrappin' DSP at the top and bottom.
  • A piece of Old Olive took a ride through my Big Shot with the brand-new Perfect Details Texturz Plate. TIP: I spritzed it with a little water to achieve a deeper impression.
  • My Whisper White backdrop was clipped just at the top with a Corner Rounder Punch.
  • On some scratch paper, I stamped the whale, from Animal Stories, using Tempting Turquoise ink. It was snipped out and the water spout was glittered using a 2-way glue pen and some Fine Cosmo glitter.
  • 1"x3" and 1/2"x3" pieces of Tempting Turquoise were both given a scalloped border (using the punch) to create the look of waves. The wider piece was adhered directly to the Whisper White. Next came the whale which was adhered with a couple dimensionals. The smaller waves were attached last, also using dimensionals.
  • The sentiment, from Razzle Dazzle, was inked up in Real Red and stamped onto Whisper White. A Word Window punch easily popped it out and it was layered onto a Tempting Turquoise Modern Label (punch).
  • Tiny loops of 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain were attached to the back of either side of the label and the piece was popped up onto the card with dimensionals.
  • Using a 1/2" circle punch, I popped out three circles out of Tempting Turquoise. Next I centered my 1 1/4" circle punch over the holes to make a perfect "doughnuts".
  • 3 Whisper White Jumbo Grommets were pushed through the centers of each "doughnut" and the prongs were pushed back using a bone folder.
  • The grommet "port holes" were attached to the card using mini glue dots.
Later this week, I will be posting the retired sets that will be up for sale- so stay tuned!

Happy Stampin'!
Carrie
